The Role:
JLGB are seeking to employ a team of Youth Development Workers. You should be passionate about young people and making a difference in their lives. You must be enthusiastic and find joy in working with young people to keep them engaged, so they are wanting to come back to the weekly activities provided by JLGB in their local community. Key to this role is to be outgoing, friendly and inspiring!
Responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate and lead JLGB's weekly groups working with young people aged from 8-18.
- Oversee health and safety and behaviour management for the group.
- Work alongside other members of staff to ensure that all young people are engaged and
fully participating in activities. - To use JLGB online system 'Fuel' to add attendance and membership data and to fill in
post session evaluation forms.
Skills needed:
- A passion and enjoyment for working with young people.
- An understanding of the needs of young people aged 8-18.
- Experience working with young people either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Great organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Being confident in public speaking.
- Knowledge and experience of working with diverse communities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to local group venue.
