What does JLGB mean to you?
JLGB is more than just an organisation; it's a vital community that empowers young Jewish people to discover their potential and make a real difference. It provides a unique blend of social action opportunities, skill-building programmes, and a strong sense of belonging. I've seen first-hand how JLGB helps young people develop confidence, leadership skills, and build lifelong friendships, shaping them into future leaders within the Jewish community and beyond.
Why are you excited to work for JLGB?
I'm genuinely excited to work for JLGB because I'm passionate about its mission and to witness its positive impact daily. It is incredibly rewarding to see the growth in our young people, from shy participants to confident leaders. I'm also energised by the diverse nature of my work, from supporting fundraising initiatives that directly enable our programmes, to organising meaningful services and events that bring the community together. Knowing that my work contributes to these positive outcomes is what drives me.
What is your favourite JLGB moment?
JLGB's Summer Camp is definitely a highlight of my year. Seeing the dedication and passion of our Adult Volunteers and Young Leaders, who invest months in planning and then seeing them lead incredible social action projects and engaging activities, is truly inspiring. It's these moments that remind me of the power of JLGB's work and the incredible community it fosters.
Tell us about your role within JLGB
I've been a part of the JLGB family since 2006, starting by ensuring the smooth operation of the charity and serving as a point of contact for our volunteers and members. Since 2013, I've had the privilege of serving as the Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive, providing comprehensive support in his daily work and facilitating effective communication across the organisation. This includes working closely with our President and his office to keep our Patrons and Supporters informed and engaged. I also play a key role in supporting our Chairman and Board of Trustees, managing the logistics and preparation for their quarterly meetings. I enjoy the multifaceted nature of my role and the opportunity to contribute to JLGB's success at all levels.
