What does JLGB mean to you?
For me, JLGB is like a family—a home away from home while I’m far from my own. It’s a place that has truly touched my heart, providing a warm and welcoming community where I feel supported, valued, and inspired. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something so special.
Why are you excited to work for JLGB?
I’m excited to work for JLGB because it allows me to meet incredible people from across the UK, connect with my Jewish identity, and share my love for Israel in a meaningful way. Every day brings new experiences, new connections, and the chance to make a real impact in the lives of young people.
What is your favourite JLGB moment?
My favourite JLGB moment was during my first training weekend. It was just a week after I arrived in England, and as a new Shinshinit, I was still discovering what JLGB was all about. From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed with so much warmth and kindness. That weekend showed me what an incredible movement JLGB is and made me feel like I had truly joined a family.
Tell us about your role within JLGB
I am a Shinshinit at JLGB, working alongside my partner Romy in London, and Roni and Noa in the North. We all came from Israel after high school to volunteer in Jewish institutions across England. At JLGB, we lead local groups, support the DofE programme, plan activities, guide in camps, and most importantly, we are always here to help in any way we can. Our role is about creating meaningful connections, sharing our experiences, and strengthening this incredible community.
