The New Brighton Brightens as More local JLGB Groups Open Thanks to DCMS Funding

We are thrilled to announce that, as the Chanukah candles are kindled, so too is the spirit of growth and opportunity within JLGB. Thanks to significant government support, the doors have opened to several new local JLGB groups, including Brighton, Bushey and Barnet, (we didn’t plan for them all to begin with B!) bringing our enriching programs to even more Jewish communities across England.

More and more parents are making an important commitment to their children’s future by enhancing their potential through JLGB. Building young people’s assets and enhancing their skills starts from as young as 8 years old, with programmes all the way up to 18, but what you may not know, is that there will be several local JLGB groups starting in the new year due to major government funding.

At JLGB we focus on the individual and aim to recognise and enhance every young person’s potential, building their character to develop their leadership, communication, organisation, initiative, resilience, confidence and creativity.

For over 125 years, at JLGB, we have skilled up and empowered young Jewish people across the UK, giving them a wide range of new skills while honing their unique abilities to enable them to achieve in the future.

Ask anyone and they will say JLGB is one giant family, bringing together young Jewish people in school years 3-13 from communities across the UK and wider world, creating networks and forging friendships that last a lifetime. In addition to weekly meetings, JLGB hosts a series of regional and national events, camps and competitions throughout the year.

When making important choices for your children, we understand that there is a huge pressure on parents to enable their children to take part in every extra-curricular activity on offer and it can be difficult to decide what is best.

As JLGB supports the next generation to rebuild post the pandemic, as families struggle during this cost-of-living crisis, we are delighted that the government has awarded JLGB with a major investment grant to expand existing groups and create new groups across the UK. This funding will boost and enhance our activities in your local area, so that every Jewish child has access to affordable high-quality youth development activities to ensure they reach their full potential and maximise their life chances.

JLGB is dedicated to ensuring a positive future for all young Jewish people and presents a unique opportunity for your children to gain transferable skills and positive values, in a fun and engaging environment so that they can become the leaders of tomorrow, today!
