What does ‘doing your bit’ mean to you?

It means giving back by helping support young Jewish people to develop, grow and benefit from my own life lessons and experiences. I’ve helped to provide young people with the tools they will need in their social, educational and working life. I’ve helped to teach them important values, like respect for others’ beliefs and opinions whilst staying true to their own values, empowering them to become confident leaders of our community and wider society.

What have you gained from JLGB?

It’s very rewarding to be able to give something back to such a great organisation. JLGB taught me so much and helped me develop into the confident adult I am today. To know I’ve helped shaped the future of so many young people, watching them benefit from my direct input, gives me a great sense of achievement and pride.

Why should others volunteer?

Because it really doesn’t take much to give so much. Any amount of time that you’re able to offer, you know that it will give local young people in your community the essential life skills that will make a real difference to their future.
