Scott Saunders, is a former international banker and businessman, but is best known for being the founder and chairman of the March of the Living UK.

Born and raised to a Jewish family in London, Scott went to a Jewish school in North West London and straight into brokering after graduating. Through this job, he travelled the world, living in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong. It was whilst living abroad that Scott had several experiences that led him to confront the fact that he did not know enough about the Holocaust, its victims, or the righteous heroes that helped save others– and he became passionate about doing something about it!

After taking part in the March of the Living, an international march of remembrance in Poland with delegations from all over the world, on his return to living in England, Scott committed to founding a delegation from the UK.   But not only did he want to organise a trip for young adults, he wanted ensure that Holocaust education was improved in the UK, and to get more young Jewish people engaging with survivors and their testimonies – so that Never Again truly means Never Again.

Scott is also a trustee of several other communal organisations, including the UK Tzofim, Kahal and The National Holocaust Centre and Museum, as well as a former trustee of Yad Vashem UK.

The entire Jewish community owes a debt of gratitude to Scott for the success of his March of the Living UK initiative, which now sees over 300 Jewish people from across the UK attending each year, and JLGB are proud to have worked with Scott since the very beginning, which has enabled many of our JLGB adult leaders to take part. To many with us tonight he is a familiar face, and we are so delighted that Scott has found the time to speak to us today.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome tonight’s special guest, Scott Saunders.

For over 125 years, young Jewish people have been discovering just how brilliant they can be and how they can make the world a better place through JLGB. Whether you're 8 or 18, whatever you want to be, join in and be your best self with us!
